In the final years of school, preparation for the entrance exam is inevitable—and each year more of Dante’s students are accepted to the best universities in Brazil and abroad. But we are not a content-based school and, throughout high school, we follow our educational project, which emphasizes the integral formation of the individual. The final three years are crucial in this process, and our aim is to ensure that, in addition to gaining their desired spots in higher education, our students follow their own safe paths, ready to design their own trajectories and draw up their own life projects, aware that a changing world needs people capable of creating solutions and building solutions individually and collaboratively, as well as being prepared to reconsider routes, think critically, and always challenge themselves.

The principle of student protagonism, which has guided all our work since Kindergarten, is strongly consolidated in this last stage of school. Our physical, educational, and social-emotional structure, which they will no longer find outside the school, provides the necessary support for students to take even higher flights. This way, they work on more ambitious projects, making closer contacts with research centers, university scientific initiation laboratories, organizations, and companies, as well as with working professionals, either in visits made by them to the school, or in visits made by our students, always accompanied by teachers, to their work environments.

The intellectual autonomy achieved by the end of the senior year enables our students to research, create, and formulate ideas, as well as search for reliable information, putting all the theoretical principles learned in class to good use in responsible and conscious practice. The class period is extended: students in the first and second year of high school have afternoon classes twice a week in addition to their morning classes (not counting compulsory electives and those in the high school curriculum for those enrolled in the program); students in the third and final year, who are closer to university entrance exams, have afternoon classes four times a week in addition to their morning classes, and only take electives if they are interested.

In addition to elective subjects, there are a number of extracurricular activities on offer, involving scientific initiation, entrepreneurship, content and media production, volunteering, robotics, environmental management, among others: innovative initiatives that not only provide enriching experiences and bring students even more knowledge in line with the demands of contemporary society, truly involve students, who come to school because they want to be there, not out of obligation.
